Following the success of our virtual Spring Show, we have identified some popular classes from our Autumn show schedule and would love people to enter pictures into any (or all) of the following categories:

  1. One dahlia bloom
  2. One, single rose
  3. A vase of mixed flowers / foliage
  4. Any container / display of fruit from your garden
  5. Any container / display of vegetables from your garden
  6. An item of handicraft

These classes are open to all and we hope that people will enjoy viewing the entries on Instagram. Send us your pictures and we’ll post them on Instagram.

We will select a winner for each class, with the winners each receiving a £20 garden voucher. The deadline for entries is Friday 11th September and we will announce the winners the following week. Good luck!

The Banksian Medal awarded to the winner of the highest aggregate total points in Classes 1-40 inclusive)

The Ernest Allcorn Memorial Salver awarded for the best exhibit in Class 1

The Burrswood Cup awarded for the best exhibit in Class 2

The Wally Fairhurst Cup awarded for the best vegetable exhibit

The Crofts Cup awarded for the best Dahlia exhibit

The Midmore Cup awarded to the competitor with the highest aggregated points total in Classes 41-50 inclusive

The Jackie Childs Cup awarded to the winner of Class 22

ANNUAL AWARDS

The Autumn Show marks the end of the Society’s show year and the following awards will be given for the best performers over the whole year, provided that the winner has won a prize in both Shows.

The Gardener of the Year will be awarded with the Royal Horticultural Bronze Medal for the highest aggregate points total in the Horticultural Classes over both shows.

The Jubilee Cup awarded to the exhibitor with the highest aggregate points total in the Floral Art Classes over both shows.

The Cookery Cup awarded to the exhibitor with the highest aggregate points total in the Cookery Classes over both shows.The Junior Competitor of the Year will be awarded with the Children’s Cup for the highest aggregate points total in the Junior Classes over both shows.
